DB CEO Richard Lutz said:

“Travel, work, relax – and feel as comfortable at 300 km/h as in your own living room: the new design is tailored to the needs of our passengers for modern travel comfort, much more individuality and true sustainability. We are sure that we will get even more people interested in the idea of climate-friendly rail and that the climate will also benefit.”

The new seats have been designed with modern materials such as wooden decors and high-quality fabric coverings with 85% wool. Gray tones are planned for the seat covers in 1st class, blue tones for the seats in 2nd class, and burgundy for those in the on-board restaurant. Elements such as a tablet holder and coat hooks in each backrest also enhance the passenger experience.

Michael Peterson, DB Long Distance Director:

“We always focus on the people and their needs during the trip. When developing the new design, we attach great importance to privacy, the design of personal space and a completely new color and material concept.

In addition to a pleasing design, the new ICE trains will feature durable, hard-wearing materials that can withstand repeated use by a large number of passengers.
